REINALDO MARTINEZ

1956 - 2020

Reinaldo (Rei) Martinez, 64, of Springfield, was called to his eternal home by the Lord, Almighty God, on June 22, 2020. He was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, on February 24, 1956, the son of the late Eugenio Martinez and Genoveva Alvarado.

He was a humble, gentle, patient, and loving man, who made everyone he came in contact with feel special, greeting everyone with “God Bless You”.

Throughout his life, he worked in the service industry, but it was his service and devotion as a minister of God that brought him the greatest satisfaction. He was a longtime member of Spanish Christian Church, Assemblies of God, Spfld., MA and Templo Ebenezer, Holyoke, Mass. Besides being a faithful servant of God he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, watching the Red Sox and Patriots play and yelling “yes!, yes!, yes!” whenever his team scored.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Isabel (Figueroa), who he married on November 7, 1987. He fulfilled his matrimonial vows by loving, respecting, and caring for his beloved “Princess”, as he affectionately called her. His memory will be cherished by his children-Maribel and her husband Fred, Felix and his wife Annette, and Betzy, his mother Beba, brothers Juan Carlos and his wife Gladys, Eugenio and his children Giovanni and Xavier, his sister Eneida and daughter Nilsa Enid, and his niece Zulmary. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Dariel, Manny, Tiffany, Genelle, Erick, Alex, Kris, Isaiah, and Adriel, and great grandchildren Miguel, Lianny, Arielys, Aaniyah, and Gabriel.

This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with him, we will also live with him- 2nd Timothy 2:11
