LYDIA JIMENEZ 

1939 - 2017

Lydia Jimenez died peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the age of 77. Lydia is survived by one brother, Jose Jimenez Sr., her children: Elizabeth De Jesus Jimenez, Gilberto Jimenez, Ivan De Jesus Sr., Kenneth Jimenez, Catherine Jimenez-Ireeta, Waleska Starks, and three daughters-in-law, Carmen De Jesus, Mickey Jimenez and Noemi Jimenez.  In addition she leaves behind seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandsons. She is predeceased by her parents, Jose and Maria Pagan Jimenez, siblings Cristobal, Carmen, Antonio, Basilisa, Juan, Raul, Sofia Jimenez and one grandson, Emanuel Rivera.

 

Lydia was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She moved to Holyoke in 1969 where she raised her family and cared for her elderly father. She was dedicated, altruistic, outgoing and community minded. She was well loved and respected by all who knew her.  

 

Calling hours are Wednesday, April 5th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at La Rosa Funeral Home, 254 Main Street, Holyoke. A mass will be held on Thursday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church 54 North Summer Street, Holyoke. The burial will be at Forestdale Cemetery, Holyoke.  All are welcome to celebrate Lydia’s life.

lidia fue una gran mujer un gran ser humano doy gracias a Dios por tener el honor de haberla conocido espero en Dios todo poderoso que brille la luz eterna y que nuestro padre celestial la reciba con alegria. fortaleza para toda la familia y recuerden que no es un adios si no un hasta luego .mi familia y yonos unimos a la pena que embarga a mi gran hermano y amigo chico jimenez y toda la familia para dona lidia un beso desde el fondo de mi corazon directamente al cielo que descanse en paz amen.. celebremos su vida por siempre..
