1956 – 2015

HOLYOKE-Charlie James Johnson, 59, a long time resident of Holyoke was called into eternal rest and peace on Friday, March 27, 2015. He was born in Hollywood, Florida on March 14, 1956 a son of the late Charles William Johnson and Cristina Cordova. Charlie Served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge. For many years he worked in the restaurant business as a chef.   Although Charlie enjoyed cooking his passion was his family, as evidenced by the great love he had for his children, grandchildren and other family members. He lived for his family and loved the quality time they spent together. His warm and caring ways are an example to all he leaves behind. Charlie will be deeply missed by his four daughters Charlene Johnson of Holyoke, Christina (Johnson) Ramos of South Hadley, Chandra Berard of Holyoke, Kiana Johnson of Chicopee, two sons Charles Berard of Holyoke, Tony Leblanc of Southampton, three brothers Johnny Johnson of Maryland, William Johnson and Julio Johnson of MA, two sisters Aniebel Johnson of MA and Julia Rivera of FL and fourteen adored grandchildren.  He also leaves his extended family and many friends to cherish his memory. Visiting hours will be Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6 to 9 PM at La Rosa Funeral Home, 254 Main Street, Holyoke, MA  01040.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 11AM to 12 PM at Bethany Assembly of God located at 580 Main St., Agawam, MA 01101.
