Warren D. Stovall was born February 6,
1940 in Athens, GA to the late Gus Stovall
Sr and Mozell (Jacks) Stovall, brother to 10
siblings; William Henry Long, Della Mae Thomas, Anne Mae Moore, Lillie Maud Bean, John Stovall, Henry Hershel Stovall, Betty Ethel Jones, Sarah Lou Pendleton, Beatrice Stovall, Gus Stovall Jr., Loving Husband to Annie (Gresham) Stovall, Devoted father to Wayne Rattcliff, Clyde Rattcliff, Jo-Ann (Stovall) Wallace (Kenneth Sr.) and Karen (Stovall) Mitchell (Jesse). A n enthusiastic grandfather lovingly known to all a s Papa and an affectionate great grandfather, and bonus father and grandfather to Linda Major, Pauline Major and Tiffany Major.
Warren was predeceased by his parents Gus Stovall Sr and Mozell (Jacks) Stovall. His Father-in-law James Gresham Sr. and Mother-in-law Hellen (Gillham) Gresham, His brothers William Henry Long, Gus Stovall Jr., John Stovall, and a sister Sarah (Stovall) Pendleton. His son Clyde Rattcliff and his great grandson Malakai Stovall (Kai-Kai) and bonus daughter Pauline Major. Warren moved to Springfield, MA with his family as a child. He graduated from Commerce High School in Springfield, Ma. He served his country with pride in the United States Army 187 Infantry and 101 Airborne Division where he earned a parachutist badge and a good conduct medal. He married Annie Gresham in November 1966 and together they spent over 59 dedicated to loving each other.
During his life Warren worked several jobs including Pratt and Whitney and American Bosch. He later became an entrepreneur and started his own carpet cleaning business with one of his good friends. He went to school to become a licensed electrician. Eventually retiring from Monsanto where he was a plant supervisor for 25 years, he then worked a n additional 28 years for Sunshine Village a s a transportation operator finally retiring at 80 years old. My Dad was no stranger to hard work, there was never a lack of things that he could do; he painted, did yard work, fixed cars and did household repairs including taking apart and completely rebuilding his own front porch twice.
Warren quietly and peacefully transitioned from this life on April 21, 2026.Warren has lived his life well, dedicated his life to his family, friends, county and community. Inspiring, nurturing and
encouraging so very many throughout the years. Dad lived to see and nurture three generations and enjoyed them all. His easygoing, humble and resilient nature is the reason he was loved by so very many and he will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
