We are truly grateful to The Lord Jesus Christ for

our devout mother, her precious memories shall live

in our hearts forever.

Our beloved mother

Odilia Gonzalez moved from Puerto Rico to New

York City at a very young age, landing her first

employment as an Au Pair for an American

family and later became a Cosmetologist.

Some of her hobbies, among many, included people

watching, reading, singing, nature trail hikes,

visiting Orchard Beach, The Bronx Zoo, along

with picnics at the New York Botanical Gardens

with her four children. With them, she often

enjoyed being outdoors in nature, especially the

oceanside, due to growing up very close to the

beach in Salinas, Puerto Rico. She was a very

jolly spirited person that filled the room with her

loud bursts of laughter that will truly be missed.

She loved using her hands in her passions for

cooking, cosmetology, knitting, and sewing. In the

summer of the 1980’s, she moved to Holyoke,

Massachusetts with her three sons to live close to

her daughter and two grandchildren.

She continuously maintained a strong faith in

our Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Psalm 23: 1-2 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack

nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures;

he leads me beside quiet waters.

Preceded in death by: Her Parents; Aquilino Reyes

and Artemia Rivera (Reyes), Brothers; Angel

Reyes JR, Aquilino Reyes, Manolin Reyes, and

Son: Daniel Gonzalez.

Survived by: Her older brother Anselmo Reyes,

daughter Yvette E. Hernandez, two sons- Angel L.

Gonzalez JR, Luis A. Gonzalez, Nine

grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren.
