In Loving Memory of
LUZ N. RODRIGUEZ
1962 - 2023
Our beloved Luz “Lucy” Rodriguez took her last breaths in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 17th, 2023, where she passed unexpectedly, yet peacefully and quietly at home. Luz was born on July 31, 1962 in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico and lived much of her later life in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Luz’s visiting hours with a service will be held on Wednesday, December 27th 2023 from 6pm-8pm. Those who knew, loved and cherished her are welcome to pay their last respects on this date at La Rosa funeral home.
Lucy was known by many who worked or crossed paths with her at Holyoke Hospital, where she dedicated many years of her life as a housekeeper. It was there that she brightened the lives of many with her contagious, beautiful smile and her humble, respectful demeanor towards all. Lucy took great care and responsibility in everything she was entrusted with. She always held true to her personal convictions and did her best to uphold what was right. Beyond that, Lucy’s generosity knew no bounds or ends, as she had a huge heart for helping those in need around her. Lucy was the true definition of a warrior as she fought a long, hard battle against Parkinson’s disease. Even still, she would always try to find joy in her life by seeking comfort in the Lord, cracking jokes with her loved ones or putting her pain aside to enjoy the moment with her family as best as she could. Lucy was truly a tremendous, admirable, strong and honorable woman, who never lost faith in God or in the hope of a better tomorrow.
There were so many aspects about Lucy that made her extremely special to those she graced with her love and friendship, impossible to list them all. She is survived and will greatly missed by her only daughter Nikkyta Lopez, who she loved eternally and unconditionally (“To the moon and back times infinity and beyond”). Lucy is also leaves, her siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her memory. Lucy’s family and those who love her will sorely miss this rare & special gem of a human being.
Luz was preceded in death by her father Angel Rodriguez, her mother Benita Robles, and her son Ravindra Dayaram. May they all be resting and rejoicing together in the Lord’s heavenly peace!
Luz, “Mom, Sis, Cuz, Titi Lucy”: we will all miss you eternally and we thank you for being who you were in life to each and every single one of us. Your departure has left an enormous void in all of our hearts that will be impossible to fill. Thank you for all the beautiful memories that we will forever cherish! We vow to keep your memory alive and honor you in every way we possibly can. Rest in Peace our Beautiful Queen!
