In Loving Memory Of
JEANYKA MATOS
1977 - 2024
Jeanyka was called home to God in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center. As Jeanyka took her last breath, her bedside was surrounded by her loved ones. She lived for her family and the time spent with them, anyone that knew her, knew how much she loved and adored her two sons, granddaughter and Legend her cat. Jeanyka enjoyed making people laugh with her funny comments and stories. For many years, she fought a long, hard battle with her health but was resilient, brave, strong and never gave up. While struggling with her health she found her way back to the Lord and was baptized to solidify her beliefs in Him and His power. Regardless of how Jeanyka was feeling she was always dress to impress, her makeup, nails and hair was something she took pride in.
She will be greatly missed by her two beloved sons, Leshawn Burrell who was also her caretaker and Jerrik Wilson, her adored granddaughter Ztar, Legend her precious cat, her mother Bethzaida Colon, sister Arleen Matos, two brothers, Smyleen Matos and Jason Matos. She also leaves many nieces, nephews (Jevon, Fabian, Jelli, Talia, Zyana, Emani, Smyleen Jr., Eriana, Janyah, Angelina, Jaylee, Bella and Grayson), cousins, extended family and an abundance of friends to cherish her memory. Jeanyka was predeceased by her father Angel Matos, sister Nayla Matos, niece Zanika Matos and her paternal, maternal grandparents.
Jeanyka, you will forever live in our hearts and mind, and we take solace in knowing you are no longer in daily pain or suffering.
