1972 - 2021

On Saturday, May 15, 2021 Reynaldo "Rey" Pedraza lost his battle to COVID-19 and passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA. Rey was born on January 6, 1972, Three Kings Day in Cidra, Puerto Rico to the late Jose Luis Pedraza and Hipolita Robles.

Reynaldo is a veteran of the Marine Corp and served four years of active duty and another two years as a reservist.  He was a very active man who loved to watch and play sports but in the last several years became an avid golfer.  He couldn't wait to play the next round.

He was also a die hard fan of the New York Yankess and at one time had a dog named Jeter and currently has a cat named Robi (for Robinson Cano).  His greatest passion, however, was his family.  Most specifically his three favorite ladies who meant the world to him.  He was an amazing father because he was an amazing man.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his three favorite ladies,  His wife, Sherri Pedraza, his mother, Hipolita "Tole"  Robles and his daughter, Brenda Pedraza.  Reynaldo also leaves his stepson Anthony Gagnon, five siblings and their spouses;  Maria M. Navarro and her husband Maximino Navarro from Cidra, PR, José C. Pedraza and his wife Wanda Miranda from Kissimmee FL, José A. Pedraza and his wife Olga Torres from Cidra, PR, José L. Pedraza and his wife Maribel Pedraza from Holyoke, MA and Rosa M. Pedraza and her husband Luis R. Robles from Springfield, MA,  nine nieces, seven nephews as well as four God children to cherish his memory.  Reynaldo was loved by so many people and will be missed dearly by even more.  He was taken from us too soon ----but will be forever in our hearts

Rest easy, old friend. I'll cherish the memories of our talks (usually over lunch) about the Yankees, family, life, your service to our country, and all the belly laughs we had. That old ADVO lunch crew was the best! Though we hadn't seen each other in quite some time, you were always good about connecting every now and again to see how things were going. I'll miss you, Rey.

To Rey's family - I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you can all eventually find peace in your grieving, and know that Rey will always be with you. ~Steve

My heart is so heavy to hear of Rey’s passing. In the years I got to work with him he always had a smile for people and approached all problems to be solved with intelligence and kindness. His love for and pride in his family were evident in the pictures he had up at his desk and the stories he told of them. My thoughts are with your family Rey. I’m grateful to have known you.

I had the pleasure of working with Rey at Valassis. I enjoyed his positive attitude and work ethic. He connected so well with the members of our distributed work team, and I looked forward to our regular calls. It was always fun to catch up with Rey to talk about life outside of work. I was saddened to learn of his sudden passing at such a young age, but he is at rest now with the Lord. My condolences to his entire family.

Rey was a joy to work with. He was also one of the few true Yankees fans that stood with me to recap a good play - especially from our favorite short stop. Always smiling and with a kind or joking word to make it a good day. I’ll always remember him with a smile. My thoughts and prayers are with the Pedraza family.

Rey and I were both volunteers when I worked with Rey to help our Valassis employees embrace diversity in the workplace, through education, celebration and understanding. In his kind and understanding way, he greeted everyone with a smile and without judgement. He chose to see the good in people and that guided everything he did.

My deepest sympathy to you all,
I was so fortunate to be among Rey’s lunch crew for a time at ADVO. No topic was off limits and you could say anything to Rey and get a direct, honest opinion with no judgement. You knew that he was listening and that he cared. His smile was amazing and could turn your day around for sure. He will be greatly missed.

For Rey’s family, I just want to pass my deepest condolences for your loss, although I truly consider it everyone’s loss.
Rey and I worked together years ago and although we didn’t see each other often, we never lost contact with each other.
He was always good for some banter about his Miami Hurricanes against my FL State Seminoles, and we both shared a great deal of affection for our beautiful island of Puerto Rico. He grew up in a hometown next to mine.
I’m so saddened by his passing and will miss greatly knowing that he was out there doing what he loved with the people he adored.
It was a true pleasure knowing him.
I will miss you Rey, mi amigo.
