VICTOR J. MEDINA

1952 - 2020

Victor Joseph Medina was born on May 21, 1952 in AguasBuenas, Puerto Rico to his  parentsElidia Miranda and Dionicio Medina both of Puerto Rican  descent.  He grew up in Brooklyn, NY alongside his five siblings.  In his younger years he was a musician and played the trombone as he made his debut in numerous entertainment joints throughout New York. He was the father to four daughters, Libby, Debbie, Cristina and Stephanie. In 2003 he relocated to Holyoke, MA after having worked in Manhattan as an elevator operator and security guard for the Federal Reserve building.  He had seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters and is survived by his three sisters, Milagros, Socorro and Trinidad. He was always in search of Old Salsa music and studied Theology, latest study was through the Hallelujah scriptures in which he logged years of work on notebooks and always shared the wisdom and the importance of being kind and humanitarian, no matter what your believes where.  He was proud to share his 20 plus years in recovery and always had a story to tell.  He passed away at his home on September 7, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. A private ceremony to honor his life will be held on September 19, 2020 from 4-8pm at his residence, 345 Chestnut street, Holyoke.  Victor will be missed and remembered forever.  May his legacy continue through his generations to come………. “Who lives, who dies, who tells your story”
