Luis A. Torres

1975 – 2013

HOLYOKE- Luis A. Torres, 38, passed away on Sat. October 26, 2013 at home.  Luis was born February 2, 1975, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, A son of Luis Manuel Torres and Antia (Dejesus).  He was raised and educated in Holyoke. Luis was a graduate of Dean Technical High School. He later furthered his education by attending Bradford Hall and graduated a Massage Therapist.  Luis was a fun, loving person. His company was always a pleasure. He loved animals and enjoyed making others laugh. Luis was a good son, older brother, uncle, loving father and a good friend.  He appreciated life, he was the type of person who would find a wounded, bring it home and care it back to health.  Luis did the same with people.  He would help and comfort those in need.  Luis’ relationship with his God , Jehovah grew as he began to study the Bible and so did his appreciation for life.  He spoke frequently of living in paradise and of what he learned from the Bible and Brother Diaz.  Luis knew about the ransom sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for all of us and how we would benefit from it having everlasting life. (Revelation 21: 1-4) As his love for the truth grew so did his heart, knowledge and joy for his family, children and friends.  Luis was succeeded in death by the man he called Dad Manuel Torres from Coamo, Puerto Rico.  He will be greatly missed by his mother Antia Torres of Holyoke, MA; two sons; Luis Manuel Torres, Devonte Torres of Springfield, MA: his daughter; Khaliah Mercer of Springfield, MA; his sister Araceli Codrington of  Springfield, MA; his niece and nephew; Sureina and Yorel Codrington of Springfield, MA; his two adored fury friends, his dog TJ and cat Cookie.  Luis leaves an impression in our hearts and minds to never be forgotten.
