SONIA IVETTE CONCEPCION

Sonia Ivette Concepcion was born on September 3, 1952, in The Bronx, New York. Sonia departed peacefully with our heavenly father on February 21, 2024, at the age of 71 surrounded by her loved ones.
Sonia is survived by her husband of 37 years, Pastor Juan Concepcion Jr.; her children Juan Luis Concepcion and wife Maria Concepcion, Elis Josua Bermudez, Ilianette Viruet and husband Ricardo Viruet, Yashira Ruiz and Nyomie Nunes; Sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Ender Concepcion; and granddaughter Destanie Angel Nunes.
Sonia graduated in 1976 from University of Puerto Rico, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and worked as a bookkeeper at New York Department Store. Sonia gave her life to the Lord in 1983. She moved to Massachusetts in 1984. On February 14, 1987, she married Juan Concepcion Jr. Sonia pastored alongside her husband for 22 years at Iglesia Escudo de la Fe, Springfield MA. She was devoted to her family but also to various ministries.
In her free time, Sonia enjoyed shopping, cooking, traveling, and loved escaping to Cape Cod to view the light houses. Sonia loved to be of service to people and offer help whenever it was needed. She was passionate in her faith with God and sharing the plan of salvation was of the upmost importance. Sonia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
